A Paróquia foi fundada no ano de 1960. No dia 03 de julho tomou posse o primeiro Pároco, Pe. Francisco Sagone do PIME (Pontificio Instituto das Missões Exteriores). Depois de três anos, Pe. Jaime Garófolli toma posse como Pároco em 1º de novembro de 1963.
